Mom’s Halloween Mission

- 1Don’t read the story out. Ask a friend for each word.
- 2Write each word on its line.
- 3Read the whole story out loud.
On Halloween night, Mom said our trick-or-treating plan had to be Adjective. She put on a sparkly Article of clothing, handed me a bucket shaped like Food, and marched into the Weather like a tiny parade. At the first house, a doorbell made a(n) Sound, and a person dressed as a(n) Animal gave us candy. Mom yelled, “Thank you, Name!” even though that was not their name. By the third house, she was Verb -ing down the sidewalk, trading tips with vampires and sipping Beverage from a thermos. Our bags filled with Plural noun, and Mom Adverb declared we needed one last spooky stop. A fog machine hissed, a skeleton waved, and I felt pure Emotion. Then Mom revealed her secret costume: she was dressed as Superhero, defender of bedtime and bonus candy.
